Toyota 22R / 22REC Long Block Overview
UNITED ENGINE has been rebuilding quality engines since 1978, offering remanufactured Toyota 22R and 22REC long blocks from 1981–198x with a rebuilt cylinder head. Each engine comes with gaskets and an oil pump, and shipping is available only to a business with a loading dock or forklift in the lower 48 states. This engine features pear-shaped exhaust manifold ports for improved performance and reliability.
Long Block Components and Remanufacturing Process
All long blocks come with cylinder head(s) attached and valve train installed; the oil pan is not included. Each long block contains lifters, camshaft, timing chain or belt, timing gears, valve guides, three-angle cut seats, cam, rod and main bearings, pistons, piston rings, rod bushings (if applicable), gaskets, and oil pump. Cylinder blocks, crankshafts, and connecting rods are cleaned, shot peened, magnafluxed for cracks, tapped, hand brushed, honed, and vacuum-tested to meet or exceed OEM standards.
