Engine Remanufacturing Quality

Since 1978, the company has been rebuilding quality engines with a strong focus on durability and OEM-level performance. This remanufactured long block for the Honda Civic 2001–2005 D17A1 1.7 SOHC NON-VTEC engine is produced through a detailed process that includes cleaning, shot peening, magnafluxing for cracks, and preparing all block and head components. Every cylinder head is rebuilt, seats are cut with a three-angle process, and heads are vacuum-checked to ensure proper valve seating before final assembly.

Components Included in the Long Block

All long blocks come with cylinder heads attached and the valve train installed, while the valve covers, timing cover, intake manifold, and oil pan are not included. Internal parts such as lifters, camshaft, timing chain or belt, timing gears, valve guides, bearings, pistons, piston rings, rod bushings, gaskets, and the oil pump are part of the remanufactured assembly. The crankshaft is ground and polished, connecting rods are honed, and all bolt holes and oil galleys are thoroughly cleaned and hand-brushed to meet high-quality standards.

OEM-Level Parts and Warranty

The remanufactured engine includes new SBI valves, SBI valve springs, NPR pistons and rings, S.A. Gear timing gears and chain, and an ITM oil pump along with an ITM or Evergreen gasket set. Blocks are bored, cylinder walls honed, crankshafts polished, and camshafts ground to OEM specifications. All long blocks meet or exceed original equipment standards and come with a 1-year, unlimited-mileage parts-only limited warranty, covering workmanship or parts-related defects for the original buyer.

Passenger car and light truck long blocks are covered for 1 years or unlimited miles (Parts Only). If failure of a long block should occur during the first twelve months and it is determined the failure is due to a defect in workmanship or parts installed by ENGINE SUPPERSTORE will replace or repair the defective unit to the original buyer.
