Engine Remanufacturing Quality

Since 1978, the company has been rebuilding quality engines with a strict process designed to deliver long-lasting performance. This remanufactured long block for the Honda Civic 2001–2005 D17A2 1.7 SOHC VTEC engine is produced through an intensive cleaning and inspection procedure. Cylinder blocks, heads, crankshafts, and connecting rods are shot peened, magnafluxed for cracks, and all bolt holes are tapped. Oil galleys are hand-brushed, cylinders are cleaned with solution, and cylinder heads receive three-angle cut seats followed by vacuum checking to ensure proper valve seating.

Internal Components and Build Details

Every long block comes with the cylinder head attached and the valve train installed, while valve covers, timing cover, intake manifold, and oil pan are not included. The build includes lifters, camshaft, timing chain or belt, timing gears, valve guides, bearings, pistons, piston rings, rod bushings when applicable, gaskets, and an oil pump. Crankshafts are ground and polished, connecting rods are honed, and all internal parts are cleaned and prepared to meet high mechanical standards. This ensures the long block meets or exceeds all original equipment specifications.

OEM-Grade Parts and Warranty

The remanufacturing line uses new SBI valves, SBI valve springs and keepers, new NPR pistons and rings, S.A. Gear timing gears and chain, and a new ITM oil pump with ITM or Evergreen gasket set. Cylinder heads are rebuilt and CNC surfaced, blocks are bored, cylinder walls honed, and camshafts are ground, hardened, and polished to OEM specifications. The long block is covered by a 1-year unlimited-mileage parts-only warranty, offering coverage for workmanship or parts defects for the original buyer.

Passenger car and light truck long blocks are covered for 1 years or unlimited miles (Parts Only). If failure of a long block should occur during the first twelve months and it is determined the failure is due to a defect in workmanship or parts installed by ENGINE SUPPERSTORE will replace or repair the defective unit to the original buyer.
