High-Quality Remanufactured Long Block Engine
Since 1978, we have been rebuilding quality engines including the 1987–99 4.0L 242 CI AMC Chrysler Jeep long blocks. Each long block comes with cylinder head(s) attached and valve train installed. Valve covers, timing cover, intake manifold and oil pan are not included. These remanufactured engines feature lifters, camshaft, timing chain or belt, timing gears, valve guides, three-angle cut seats, rod and main bearings, pistons, piston rings, rod bushings (if applicable), complete gaskets and an oil pump. All components are cleaned, shot peened, magnafluxed and prepared to meet or exceed original equipment specifications.
Precision OEM-Grade Rebuild & Warranty
Cylinder blocks, heads, crankshafts and connecting rods are fully cleaned, hand brushed and inspected for cracks. Cylinder heads receive three-angle cut valve seats, are rebuilt and CNC surfaced, then vacuum checked for proper valve seating. Crankshafts are ground and polished, connecting rods are honed and camshafts are hardened and restored to OEM specifications. Each long block includes new SBI valves, SBI springs and keepers, NPR pistons and rings, S.A. Gear timing gears and chain, ITM oil pump and ITM or Evergreen gasket set. Passenger car and light truck long blocks include a 1-year unlimited mileage parts-only warranty, with freight available only to business locations with a loading dock or forklift in the lower 48.

Passenger car and light truck long blocks are covered for 1 years or unlimited miles (Parts Only). If failure of a long block should occur during the first twelve months and it is determined the failure is due to a defect in workmanship or parts installed by ENGINE SUPPERSTORE will replace or repair the defective unit to the original buyer.
