High-Quality Remanufactured Long Block

Since 1978, we have been rebuilding quality engines including the 1987–99 4.0L 242 CI AMC Chrysler Jeep long blocks. Each remanufactured long block is delivered with cylinder head(s) attached and the complete valve train installed. Valve covers, timing cover, intake manifold and oil pan are not included. All long blocks feature lifters, camshaft, timing chain or belt, timing gears, valve guides, three-angle cut seats, cam, rod and main bearings, pistons, piston rings, rod bushings (if applicable), gaskets and an oil pump. Every component is cleaned, shot-peened, magnafluxed and assembled to meet or exceed original equipment specifications.

Complete Professional Rebuilding Process

All long blocks include lifters, camshaft, timing chain or belt, timing gears, valve guides, three-angle cut seats, cam, rod and main bearings, pistons, piston rings, rod bushings (where applicable), gaskets and an oil pump. Cylinder blocks, heads, crankshafts and connecting rods are fully cleaned, shot-peened and magnafluxed to detect cracks. All bolt holes are tapped, oil galleys are hand-brushed, and cylinders are hand-cleaned with proper cleaning solutions to ensure a precise and thorough rebuild.

OEM Components and Precision Rebuild

All cylinder blocks, heads, crankshafts and connecting rods are thoroughly cleaned, hand-brushed and inspected for cracks. Cylinder heads are rebuilt with three-angle cut valve seats, CNC surfaced and vacuum-tested. Crankshafts are ground and polished, connecting rods are honed and camshafts are restored to OEM specifications. The engine includes new SBI valves and springs, NPR pistons and rings, S.A. Gear timing set, ITM oil pump and an Evergreen or ITM gasket set. Each long block is backed by a 1-year unlimited mileage parts-only warranty for passenger cars and light trucks.

cleaned with cleaning solution .

Cylinder heads have seats cut three angle. After assembly, heads are vacuum

checked for valve seating.

Crankshafts are ground and polished . Each oil galley is hand brushed .

All connecting rods are honed.

SUMMARY OF OUR ENGINE LIMITED WARRANTY:
Passenger car and light truck up to 1/2 ton long blocks are covered for 1 years or unlimited miles (Parts Only no labor ). If failure of a long block should occur during the first twelve months and it is determined the failure is due to a defect in workmanship or parts installed by united engine will replace or repair the defective unit to the original buyer.
